The federal ban on evictions is set to expire at the end of July. But 14% of renters are still behind on their payments and in big cities rent is up by 24% from last year.

The Treasury Department is set to announce that it distributed $1.5 billion in rental assistance this month, but states and cities have struggled with getting that assistance to renters and landlords over the past year.
